Laced on boards

Heritage

Other

Traditional

Books bounding using supported sewing, where the sections are sewn onto cords or tapes, can then be laced into the boards that will become the covers. This provides a secure attachment and provides more strength at the joint (where the cover meets the spine) than modern day machine made books that only have their covers glued on.
